HISTORY OF THE MARKET

The Rifle Farmers Market has evolved over the years, taking on various forms and structures. In 2014, Hannah Klausman and Blair Bracken, both City of Rifle employees at the time, spearheaded the effort to create a formalized Rifle Farmers Market. Managed by the City and a dedicated board, with financial support from the Rifle Region Economic Development Corporation (RREDC), the market began to take shape. In 2016, Kathleen Anthony, an AmeriCorps volunteer with the City, was appointed as the first market manager. Since 2017, the market has been co-chaired by Helen Rogers and Elissa Nye, along with a passionate team of board members and volunteers who work year-round to bring the market to life each season.

MARKET VISION

The mission of the Rifle Farmers Market is to cultivate a vibrant, weekly gathering that brings together local farmers, artisans, organizations, artists, and musicians, fostering a strong sense of community and connection. Through this platform, we aim to celebrate the diversity and creativity of our region while supporting local businesses and building lasting relationships within our community.
